Boat in the reeds.

I live near The Burrow in Rosslare. The boats there are of varying condition and seem to come and go regularly. I was looking around for something new, for me anyway, a few nights ago. I spotted this boat nestling in the reeds. It was difficult to frame from ground level and I would like to have had a step ladder with me to gain a higher viewpoint. It would have allowed me to show a little more of the inside and a wider view. I’ll have to go back. :)
Thanks for looking,
John.

fguihenParticipantLovely. Love the colors. Pin sharp also. Almost looks like hdr. I like the viewpoint also, almost like you came across the boat while rowing through the reeds. Good capture
sirvadMemberNice image John. Nice colours, textures, tones and light. if it were mine i might take some of the redness from the rushes to make the boat colours hit ya more, but thats a personal choice. what is the surrounding landscape like? wud love to see one with the boat as foreground interest, but it all depends whats in the BG. well done !

Hi fguihen,
Many thanks for your comments.
I developed it from RAW and then into PE8.
I used the Burn, Dodge and Sponge tool to bring out the textures and colours which I suppose
does give it a bit of a HDR look.Cheers,
John.

Hi Sirvad,
There was a very red sunset shining from behind me which gives the reeds a more reddish hue
than normal and I see that your suggestion re toning down the red is worth trying.I was standing on my toes with the camera over my head using live view to compose.
I wanted the boat totally surrounded by reeds but if I had included any more at the top this
would not have been so as we would be able to see the ditch behind.I really appreciate you taking the time to comment.
All the best,
John.
