In Howth (someone said, it would look better in b/w. What do you say?

    Hi Daniela,

I think both 1 and 2 have their charms.
The subject seems to suit the mono treatment with
    the peeling paint.
Then I look at the colour version and I really like
    the faded red colour.
    I like both.

I think #3 might benefit if you had zoomed in or moved closer to include
    just the very colourful hulls.
The portion at the top of the photograph seems a little busy to me and I feel it
dosen’t add anything to the image and by inference takes away from it.

    Well done,

    John.

I think #2 is the best of the 3 images.

I’m sure the red is a true reflection of the actual tone, but it still feels a bit flat. I think if the colour was enriched a bit, it would form a nice contrast with the blue water.

I’d echo John’s comments regarding #3….it would benefit from some cropping around the bows of the boats.

    Nice images.

Hi Danny. Personally I prefer #1. The B&W suits the subject. I’d agree with the lads about the third one.

    Hi Danny,

I think that the upper half of image #3 is not adding anything to the
image and is thus taking away from it.
You could try to imrove the existing image in your software by making a
crop to exclude this part of the image.
There is no guarantee that a crop will improve this existing image and even if
it did the quality may suffer due to the amount of pixels being discarded.

My suggestion is that when faced with a similar type of scene in the future you
could get closer or zoom in to isolate the more interesting portions of a scene and
exclude any distracting or uninteresting parts.

    Cheers.

    John.

    yous mean like that?:

it’s hard to do and even when taking the picture you can’t zoom to much, as you wouldn’t get all the boats on the pic, I don’t have a SLR Cam which might have the possibility to attach such kinda lense that would catch the whole width *shoulderstwitch*
But anyway, constructive critics is always much appreciated…

    Have a nice day everyone
