Bonfire night

A shot I took a good few years back, its slightly soft/ out of focus, but I thought I’d put it up for some critique. When scanned I did some tweaking in PS and also added a texture.

That’s a good shot, underneath all that designer stuff-
It’s a pity maybe, that it isn’t sharp,
though I’ll have to take your word for it-
it’s posted so small that resolution can’t really be commented on-Well composed though, and shot from the right height for the subject-

I like this, great expression in the boy’s face, and i really like the angle.
I do like textures too, but I think the texture on this is a tad overpowering. Just a matter of taste perhaps.Sinead
Thanks for the comments, this is an old neg of shots i took in the 80s . I hadn’t even printed this one. I wasn’t the best darkroom technician still learning at the time. So it was stored away in a neg sleeve for an least 20yrs and the neg had suffered, so I only put a texture in to mask this deterioration, also this was scanned with a cheap scanner so resolution is not great and the shot was not sharp in the first place.
The only reason I posted this is because of the look of the boy and father beside him minding him.All the best Joe
