Books on lighting

Hi

Can anyone recommend some good books on lighting?
General use of light and studio lighting.

hi Cormac,

“Light – Science and Magic” i believe is considered to be one of the main texts on the subject. Not very rewarding as far as pretty pictures, but you’ll know more about light than you thought was possible.

For pretty pictures and amazement at the versatility of the humble speedlight, I’d recommend Joe Mcnally’s “hot shoe diaries”.

I notice that there are two books with very similar titles on the subject….this is the one I was referring to..

Just as well I ordered the correct one then!
Many thanks again, and I must say I am tempted by The Hot Shoe Diaries also.
Maybe next month…
