connieParticipantHiya
you have a great eye for what can make a good pic IMO. Love the swan pic! Someone will come along soon with great advice :)Joey CParticipantemmalongworthParticipantnp72ParticipantNice shots. I like the train, something the aged look gives it a bit of character, where was it taken?
emmalongworthParticipantThanks Nigel, they were all taken in Co. Offaly in a place called “Lough Boora Parklands”. Here’s there website: http://www.loughbooraparklands.com/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
np72ParticipantAh. I don’t know Offaly at all, it’s been 20-something years since I was anywhere near that part of the country.
emmalongworthParticipantLol well I can tell ya your not missin a ting haha nice aul spot for pics tho but ya really need a nice fine day…was completely overcast the day I took the above, the sky was pure white which isn’t very helpful when takin a pic :L
np72ParticipantOvercast days can sometimes add to a photograph, and sometimes a filter can help a little too. If you ever go back that way, and if you have any filters, you should try them and see what happens, if you think what you took looks only look average. Talking of which, I should stick some filters in my bag the next time I go out, it’s been a while since I’ve used any, apart from a red filter on some b&w shots.
emmalongworthParticipantI do agree with ya in sayin an overcast day would add to a photo, I would ave jus preferred if there was some definition to the clouds…I need to invest in some filters as this is my first Dslr, still gettin used to it & there’s so much equipment out there I’d love if I could afford it all lol…thanks for the tip tho… appreciate it :) :)
np72ParticipantWell, the filters I have are Cokin ones, apart from the 1 red filter, and the only adaptor I have is a 52mm one for a film camera I’ve had for years, I only recently got a digital with a 58mm thread on the lens, so need to get an adaptor for that, so for now I can only use most of my filters one 1 camera.
You should try a couple of graduated filters, or even go for one to start off with, and see how it works out, as a graduated one would probably help with the sky in that train shot. I only have 7 or 8 filters as it is, but only 1 that fits my digital at the moment.
emmalongworthParticipantyea I shall defo be investin in so filters & also an off camera flash…after that I hope to get some new lenses :) :)
