I took this yesterday on Bray beachfront… was a lovely day with fantastic skies and plenty of drama in the clouds..
C&C Welcome

jb7ParticipantLooks like that 10mm is earning it’s keep Lorraine-
I think this one would be improved by correcting the perspective,
and restoring those Victorian Terraces to their usual upright posture;
if it was a pure landscape shot you could get away with it,
but the angles draw too much attention to themselves.there’s maybe a little bit of oversharpening visible in the halos around the clouds and hill-
Very dramatic shot though-
j
LoGillParticipant;) Thanks JB – Any tips/ pointers for correcting the perspective ?? haven’t tried doing that yet … I’ll check out the Halos too.. didn’t actually sharpen this much but I’ll check it out ;)
L
jb7ParticipantAnother consonant Lorraine-
Have you explored your filters in CS2?
Lens correction? There are other ways, but this is probably the easiest-
one slider for vertical perspective,
then scale the image-You will be discarding some pixels,
so it will be a different picture,
but I think it’d be worth it-
I would like to see it if you do it,
I think it would make a far more ordered shot-j
LoGillParticipant:lol: Consonant provided J
Thanks for the tip.. I’ll probably be using that alot with this lens .. very simple adjustment :)
Here’s the ammended and hopefully less sharp version
jb7ParticipantRobertoMemberRobMemberStill producing some cracking shots there Lorraine. Just gotta
get myself a good wide angle….Rob.

MadthingParticipantPeteTheBlokeMemberajParticipantLoGillParticipantThanks a million for the feedback :)
The BW conversion is Ciaran’s LAB tutorial -with a couple of layers and tweaks for contrast here and there..I’m really glad you like it :D
L
Brian_CParticipantLoGill this has some beautiful textures and contrasts. It’s a really really good shot.
IF you don’t mind my asking, how did you fix those buildings. Can it be done with Elements 5?
LoGillParticipantHiya Brian
In CS2 there is a filter for this type of correction which JB pointed out – I did a quick google to find out about it and found simple instructions here http://www.photoshopcafe.com/tutorials/lens_distortion/lens.htm
I’ve just done another quick google and its seems the filter isn’t available in elements 4, although there might be a Correct Camera Distortion Filter doing something similar in elements 5 – is that right ??
