Brett Harkness or Lovegrove Consulting?

I’m hoping to do a workshop in England this year. Has anyone done either of their courses? If you were to choose, who would you go with? Or is there one you would really recommend?

I was lucky enough to win a workshop with Damien Lovegrove in last years POTY and it really was a great experience. Damien is very friendly and is open to questions at any point and will go out of his way to explain not only the answer but why that’s the answer. Very highly recommended. I’ve also heard very good reports on his instructional dvds if that’s of interest to you as an alternative/addition.

I’m not familiar with Brett Harkness’ work, but Damien Lovegrove has a very distinctive style. You will find that a lot of the photos you take on the day and the ideas you take home will be in line with this style so that’s just something to be aware of. But, hey, if you like his style then that’s a good thing, right?!

I took part in the Urban Portraiture workshop so if you’ve any specific questions relating to that just shout!

Finally, Liam Ramsell organises some world class photographers to come over here to do talks/workshops so if you’d rather not travel then I’d keep an eye on his site (http://www.irisheyes.ie/). He’s a good guy to deal with too.

thanks, k! I know he’s coming to Dublin or Cork this year so that might be a better alternative to traveling. i’ve also heard his DVDs were good. i thought santa was going to bring me one but my stocking was full of coal instead.

    cheers!
