who can I ring to complain about my internet connection???
DSL?? this feckin eircom looks more like a 56k dial-up!!!ExpresbroParticipantIf you look around some of the techie forums you’ll see hundreds if not thousands of complaints about Irish BB suppliers.
From what I’ve read..you’ll probably end up totally frustrated and no better off.
I was on the 2Mb package from Esat (been with them since they were iol) and now get 3mb..seems to work most of the time. I’d love to upgrade to the next package which I think would give me 7Mb or thereabouts, but I’ve read so many nightmare stories from people changing packages with them that I’m almost afraid to rock the boat. As it is I’ve been using BT for many years and it usually works…
I think I’ve only ever had to call them once or twice..and that was mostly a waste of time.
So I’m leaning towards the “if it ain’t broke..don’t fix it” line of thought… :D
BMParticipantMarkKeymasterI’m with Eircom for 3- 4yrs now and haven’t had a single issue with their service.
nfl-fanParticipantHe he… lucky you… it took me 20 phone calls to Eircom just to get my telephone line activated a while back… total nightmare… never came across such a shower of muppets.
My parents switched to UTV for all services and since then they’ve been plagued with marketing calls from Eircom… they’ve asked them to stop, they’ve e-mail asking them to stop, they’ve wrote to them asking them to stop… and they still call.

it is now an offence to continue to cold call once the company has been informed that the customer does not wish to recieve calls from the company, under the data protection act 2003.
report it to the data protection commisioner if it really is getting out of hand

Mick451ParticipantNice site.
Must compare home and office speeds.figParticipantnfl-fanParticipantChrist fig… where you running the test from… Japan? I never thought I’d see such speed on this island of ours.
My 2MB is pure bliss when it’s working properly. Seems OK this morning.
Just thinking back to the days of dial-up… I reckon that working for the rest of your life on dial up would be a good selection package for hell… ie. when you die and go to hell you have a selection of packages you can choose from that you then have to suffer for eternity… others would include physiotherapy and toothache.
figParticipantLol, and PI is always down or comes online for 30 seconds each day :-)
MarkKeymasterfig, you must be either working for an ISP or you’re actually physically connected to some fibre ring somewhere :)
RobMemberfigParticipantHoly Shi…!!!! That’s fast upload! Surely humans could transport themselves across that kind of bandwidth!?
