Broadband………not!

nfl-fanParticipant
But.. the question now is.. are these work speeds or home speeds that people are posting?
figParticipantMarkKeymasterRobMembernfl-fanParticipantHow the hell do you manage such high speeds from home Fig?
Has Limerick gone back to the future or what?
I’m working from home today… and about to tuck into 4 smoked rasher and two free range eggs… so beat that!
figParticipantIf you live in a UPC digital cable tv area (not digital through dish) you should be able to get broadband from UPC. It is 20mb down and 1.5mb up, uncontested, and no download limits (I have tested that by downloading around 90gb this month) It’s always fast and always available and no I don’t work for UPC :-)

nfl-fanParticipantI see it’s €46 a month… and no cap… for 20MB down…
And I have to pay €20 a month… 12GB cap… for 2MB down…
Irish eh?
figParticipantWell the good thing about it too for me is I have ditched my phone line and use an Irish VOIP provider with a proper 061 limerick inbound number. Calls are practically nothing and no line rental.
nfl-fanParticipantFúc sake… I want to file for discrimination here in Wexford… when are the 21st Century services ever going to reach us?
Noely FParticipantAnonymousParticipantAh nice lads. Just go on with that. telling me how fast your neukende broadband is. I can not get it because there is a hill in the way. They put people on the moon but can not manage to curve a beam around a lousy not even a high hill.
so i got mobile broadband. which is not even broadband, but a little bit faster then dail up. luckely, nobody is watching me at work.Alan RossiterParticipantMartinOCParticipantI know my internet speed is irrelevant to the conversation, but for reference this is my home speed, nominally its 100 Mb but I won’t complain.
[Edit] But I can’t seem to get more than 10Mb from the Dublin server, using this test.Martin
AnonymousParticipantsparkieMemberi had eircom bb for about four years and it was crap, very slow and would just cut out for hours on end so i changed to ntl and it is running better then ever, you should check them out.
