My first attempt at a still life.
I don’t know lads is it worthwhile to persue this kind of photography further or should I stop staight away.
A friend of me ( who is a pro ) told me that first you have to find out what you want to do with photo’s and frankly I have no idea yet. So i tried this. It was fun to do, but I think arranging object for a picture is an art itself. Maybe it was a better idea to eat the egg.

I think it has something to do with the saying about making an omelette….

In this case, I think the draining board background (whilst conducive to cleaning up afterwards) lets this shot down. If it had been on a plain surface it may have worked better.

You have a point there. I probably went for comfort here. This was easy to clean afterwards

I think the draining board is fine-
and the window light is fine-

I think that this is a pretty good stab at still life-
I also think that if you went back tomorrow and used the same ingredients
that you might make it even better…

I think the processing might be a bit heavy handed, maybe,
and that there might be more to gain from using reflectors to modify the lighting instead-
the dark area to the right in particular-

Using a polarizer might take some of the whiteness off the egg white reflections too…

The use of a wide angle is perhaps something you could reconsider- if you wanted to-
and although it is generally easier to compose with a wide angle- due to the dynamic perspective-
a slightly longer lens might call less attention to the photography,
and make you concentrate more on the arrangement of the objects-
    as you quite rightly mentioned-

All this in my opinion only…
Nice to see a still life in this section too…

You’re absolutly right here. I was to concentrated trying to get the mixer in the shot.
Thanks for the comments although if I follow this up it will cost me more money again since I don’t have wide angles and polarizing filters.
