I like this shot.
The way she all wrapped up and reading a book on Egypt is great.
I might crop it down a little on top and relflection in the glasses of the man behind
is slightly distracting.Overall it looks good.
I’m not sure you need that Nikon. You really are getting great shots
using the camera you have.SusieSMemberInteresting picture.
Somehow I like that man far behind the girl.
Makes me think.ExpresbroParticipantThanks Graham. Hadn’t noticed the reflection in the glasses actually..I’ll see to that :D
Thanks for the compliment..just don’t say that to my wife..cos she says the same thing…
I want to actively discourage thoughts along those lines ….
Have to say though..despite it’s limitations in some areas the S5600 is a great little camera and i’d recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap introduction to photography.
GrahamBParticipantRobbie your secret is safe with me.
I do think the guy in the background adds depth to the picture which i do like
i just think the tiny spot is distracting. I wouldn’t get rid of him completely though.Still I’m sure someone will have a better suggestion.
ExpresbroParticipantFunny..I didn’t like him in the shot when I looked at it…but would be too much photoshop for me to lose him..so he stays…
But I do like the way he is staring into space…or maybe he’s wondering what all those guys with cameras are doing taking pictures of everyone… :D
SusieSMembernononooo…
Dont lose that “stalker” guy on the background.
My opinion is that he is one of the elements that make this picture interesting.GrahamBParticipantStop freaking out folks. The background does need to stay.
It’s just his glasses. JeeesssExpresbroParticipantThanks Susie..I think :D
Don’t worry…Stalker guy stays…
Poor guy..he’s probably a really nice law abiding citizen…but here..he’s a weird stalker…
Don’t ya just love photography!!!
stasberMemberNice conversion Robbie, and good isolation – subject in sharp focus, background uniformly out of focus. Subject matter picked out well to, with all the books as well as Graham’s comment about being all wrapped up and reading a book on Egypt.
As for yer man, I would only slightly tone down the reflection of the glasses to compliment the light in that part of the scene, though his shirt is grand I think.

ExpresbroParticipantThanks Stas..
Do ya know..I don’t actually think it is glasses..I’ve looked at the bigger version on my Flikr just now…and I think it’s something on a shelf behind..not that it matters….but that’s the kind of pedantic thing that would bother me..hehe!!
I’ll brush it out later in PS ..cos it’s annyoing me now as well.. :)

No bother Robbie, I don’t find anything ‘else’ that takes away from the composition; the glasses just take the edge off the main subject slightly, so IMO should just be toned down a touch, to ‘blend in’ with the scene.

Thats what i was trying to say earlier
