Bullfinch?

This is not a good photograph by any means, just wanted
confirmation I think it is a Bullfinch but havent seen one in
my garden for many years and I always thought they were
more red?

beefIt’s a Bullfinch alright. Getting pretty rare AFAIK. I’ve only seen one a hadnful of times.
This is the male, waited half an hour for him to come out from the branches. Need to focus better next time.

to see my visitor again :)Thanks Shutterbug. I have a flowering crab apple, (Malus Golden Hornet) in the garden and every spring the bullfinches gorge themselves on the emerging buds. Its a wonder it flowers at all. An added bonus is the tree is laden down with yellow crab apples in the autumn that attracts a variety of birds throughout the winter.
That seals it for me … dwarf crab apple trees will have to go in the back garden.
