I like this style of black and white landscape photography.

    Any C&C is much appreciated

Hi – i like it to. Nice composition.

i’d even like it with greater contrast. Maybe try a more dramatic B&W conversion. What software did you use?

Two small issuess though for me – either a seagull or sensor dust in the centre of the white clouds which would be easily cloned out – and the horizon left looks tilted perhaps?

If you decide to straighen the image – the rock will get very close to the top border – perhaps ruining the image.

For this kind of shot a good investment is a hotshoe level. Cheap on eBay.

I had a look at the exif data on flickr – and if it was me i’d use f/11 to f/16 and without fail i’d have a tripPod and always use “LiveView”. You can dispaly a ‘rule of thirds’ grid on the 450D, use manaul focus by zooming into the rock x a factor of 10 – and making tiny adjustments to get it pin sharp.

I used to have that 17-85mm Lens and they are the ‘sweet spot aperetures’ .

    overall – really nice though.
