The third is my favourite too, because of composition. The others, because of the old and new buildings have plenty of potential, but the composition doesn’t seem so good. It can be hard in a town/city to get buildings in a proper vista.
Also if your post were smaller they could be seen better to judge the composition, its hard to get a good look when the picture is bigger than a laptop screen.
What really let’s the picture’s down, and you know yourself, is the lack of sharpness. In thumbnail, 1 and 3 both look good composition-wise, so yes it is the lack of sharpness, but what you do, I have a tripod but haven’t brought it anywhere yet.

cheers for the comments Martin, i’ll definately take the tripod with me the next time.
to be honest this was an experimental task for me, night time shooting is new to me and i havent fully worked out which settings to use-its all experimental at the moment.

i appreciate all comments as thats how i am going to learn, i hope to take them on board the next time im out.

    Cheers,
    Seamus.
