Hi
I have had an Canon EOS 350D for about 1and half years and have experimented an dplayed with it enough .I frequently take landscape pictures and would like to be able to take more from futher but with more detail so was thinking of springing for a telephoto lens,I have done a lot of research and am a bit bamboozled by the variety. I have a low enough budget and found a Sigma lens 70mm -300mm APG DG and was wondering what others suggest and think of this as a versatile type lens.
Thanks
I have the Sigma 70-300 APO for my 350D and I am pretty happy with it. If you want telephoto and your on a budget then its hard to beat. I went through all the reviews I could find and tried out a couple but the Sigma is the one I settled on. If its telephoto you want and it needs to be below £150 I think you would be hard pushed to find anything better. Its not without its faults of course but if you keep it within its sweet spot its very capable. I actually got mine from Jessops who have them for £129 at the moment which is around £30 cheaper than I found in most online stores.
One of the nice things about Sigma is that they supply both a lens hood and a case with the 70-300 APO so you won’t need to worry about buying a lens hood seperately. It often irks me how Canon sell a lot of their lenses without hoods!
