buying lighting from America?

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has bought 110 voltage studio lights in the states and used them in Ireland? Is it possible? I am going to SC for a month and would like to buy lights to use while there and have them shipped home after to use here. Thanks. Steph

Most US lighting as you point out will be 110v, so will not work here. A good option would be either an Elinchrom BX or BX-Ri kit as these are auto sensing Multi Voltage – all you have to do is change the modelling lamps. The good news is you can buy them here at as good a price and not have to worry about customs stopping you for VAT & Duty on your return.

thanks. I am originally from the US and have used transformers before for things we brought here with us. Is this a possibility?

Possible, but why bother when you can have dual voltage without any worries or transformers?
