The only thing with the D-Lite set that I don’t like is the fact that they are quite difficult to set it up. The soft boxes require a bit of fiddling with the metal spikes and I wonder if this wont affect the life span of these soft boxes. I noticed that Elinchrom changed the design of the softboxes on the new models so they must’ve acknowledge this issue.

Yep. The rods are the most fidgety part of the set up for sure..took me a while to get it right…and I have the newer version…
Apart from that though they set up pretty quickly and easily.
JMac-2006Participantlovely first shoot – nice model too – funny i always get the too many landscapes even though my wife is camera shy, she runs if i say i’ll take her pic
so back to the landscapes it is then – cant win :)121FOTOParticipantJMac. It took me a month to convince my wife to pose for me. I now printed the BW portrait and she is very happy with it. Went on facebook and all….
Expresbro. Is this the softbox you got? http://www.elinchrom.com/Messe/Downloads/Rotalux.pdf If yes how much was it??
The problem I discovered with the D-Lite is that the softbox that came with the kit is to small. I could really do with a bigger softbox or an umbrella.
Another thing I realised is that if you shot at a slow shutter speed and you have the modelling light switched on, that modelling light will affect your WB and it will affect it in a bad way  . Got few shots where the red channel was completely clipped and took me ages until I realised why.ExpresbroParticipantJust saw this now..sorry it took so long to get back to you.
The kit I bought was the D-Lite 2 Kit and I got it from Bermingham cameras in town for €499..which was a oretty good price I think. It’s the newer fan cooled version.
The softboxes don’t look like the ones in those pics..they look a bit more complicated to set up alright. There are two softboxes..a larger one and a smaller one.
Mine are the same as the ones shown in the link below:

Hope that helps.
