I wonder if a different crop would improve the photo? I take pictures of flowers and sometimes I think they end up looking like a specimen rather than a picture. I tend to leave mine as a specimen because I normally want them for botanical interest, rather than artistic interest.
Agree with Ciaran too. There is a nice feeling of depth and texture Dave. The colours are very natural. Yep, it’s pickable upable!! I was just about to move closer to the monitor to smell it. Lovely.
Like the composition, the DOF and the colour is vivid and natural. The only tiny little thing (and I really reaching to nit pick here) is the cut off of the leaf on the bottom. m It’s much better than any attempt I’ve had at flower shooting.
Yeah I’d agree with all above… nice colour, sharpness and DOF…! Maybe its postioning in the frame could be a tad better altough it is hard with a square crop… Square crops never work with anything but buildings for me…!
