cathaldParticipant
I know a lot of you guys use a cable release for you camera
My question is have you gone through many as i have gone through 4 since June
I bought 2 cheapos from ebay and 2 from 7dayshop and none of them work now
Has anyone else had the same problem with these
I don’t want to buy the proper Nikon one at around £100 in case it packs up alsoCathal
randomwayMemberI bought a noname release from ebay and have been using it for the last two years… I will check if they are still sold there.
bingbongbiddleyParticipantHi Cathal,
I use a 7dayshop one with my D200 which is what you use as well if I’m not mistaken. It works fine and I’ve had no trouble with it at all. Did you complain to 7dayshop when it stopped working? They should have been under warranty, no?
Sorry you’re having difficulty with the cable releases. Just though I’d weigh in and let you know that not all of the 7dayshop ones are dodgy.

randomwayMemberWhat is the problem with them Cathal? Is it possible that there is some dirt in the socket on the camera?

Perhaps some dust got into the socket but how would you clean that if there was
PixelleMemberInteresting.
I bought a c. 3 metre cord cable release [ €9.00 plus expensive tax and delivery] from DigitalRev in 2008. Unfortunately it lasted for only 8 months. To quote the sellers :
“We are sorry to learn that there is a problem with the product. However, since the remote switch is a generic accessory, it would be uneconomical to repair. The option would therefore be to purchase a new remote switch.”
I also bought a wireless remote but as it works from the front of the camera only it is not nearly so useful.sean1098MemberWell i have the same problem, have gone through about four last year, after a while they just stop working, i just through them away and buy new ones.
I thought they all did that. Maybe we donegal lads are a bit to rough with them

JMcLParticipantI bought a cheapy from Gadget Infinity and it lasted no time. The last one I bought from these lads is going fine so far (cheaper and chunkier that the previous one).

PixelleMemberJust ordered a wired remote, JMCL, I hope it lasts longer than the last one. Cheap enough, though. Thanks
