Experimenting with new angles and trying for different points of view, since we
have such a lack of blue sky and white fluffy clouds this summer, it seemed imperative
that it should be included :) C & C most welcome of course!
this one doesn’t do it for me…
i really like the textures and lines caused by looking up through the flowers but something about the composition is lacking…. perhaps a tighter crop to get rid of the blue on the sides? or maybe crop very tight and make it more abstract?
i like the unusual angle of view but overall theres just not very much happening in the image…

appreciate your input. It was a much wider view originally and I did play around with
different crops, I will try out your suggestions and see what I come up with.Thanks again.
I like it Jenny, but there’s something about the composition that just doesn’t feel right. Maybe too many flowers being included & making it a bit cluttered. I like the lighting, texture & shooting angle but feel there’s a better shot to be had from it.

but it wasnt possible using the fisheye lens, I had it in the middle of the
plant :) Thanks for the comments appreciate it.of course you can’t please everyone all the time, you did put it up for critique after all :) removal of the left 6th or 8th of the frame would make the flowers fill it more and make the image less centrally composed but its just an opinion. sorry if i come across a bit blunt but unfortunately tone of voice is impossible through text.
I really like it, Jenny. Great tones, colours and angle. Yeah the composition could be slightly altered so as to remove a bit of clutter but to me it’s not that big a deal. I’m sure it’s an image you could shoot again and try out Isabella and Mikka’s suggestions to see how it looks.
Thanks fergie, it is good to try different things, and while I liked it I knew there was
something not quite right and “clutter” seems to keep coming up so I guess that’s what
is amiss! :)I think it’s great! I like the composition and the textures and a different angle really do it for me; maybe it’s also cause Calla is one of my favourite flowers :roll: :lol:
My only niggle is just the grey cloud (and it touching the flower especially), but as said over and over again in this forum- can’t do much about the weather in Ireland, have to work with what we’re given!!
The fact that there are only hints of more flowers in the background, adds to it, as I would imagine a whole bunch of them there now (a field of Callas?). I like it! :)
