Very nice set of images .. very stark and harsh looking treatment but I think it works for these ..

Yeah very nice… I agree the first is the nicest…. they would look lovely up on a wall together…!

Number one’s an absolute cracker, almost abstract with the
fence and its reflection disappearing into thin air. Love it.

    Rob.

Cheers for the comments folks. :) Yeah I agree, the first shot is my favourite of the three also. I’ve been wanting to take a Josef Koudelka style shot for a while now, so when I saw the strong lines, and slightly surreal look to the scene, the moody, contrasty look used by Koudelka looked right for it.

I wasn’t sure (and still not) about the other two shots in the triptych, but since they maybe help tell the story of the storm damage and flooding, I left them in.

The first one with the transparency in the foreground and the strong lines in the back … WOW. I think, the second one is strong as well, but I can’t match it in any way to the first, they should be in separate rooms on the wall (a massive crowd would gather, if they were together and it would be really hard to get them out the door) . The third has a nice texture, but nothing special for me. Thanks for posting them!

Yep, the first is class. You almost feel as if you are at the spot. The semi sheen from the reflection really creates a mood of desolation. I like the second too but there is something not quite there with it. Maybe the crop is a little too tight.

Nice shots, part. the first one…wouldn’t save them as progressives though, just incase some folks have slow connection and see seemingly out of focus jpegs….when they’re not

Wow, absolutely three excellent shots in my opinion.

Id love to have these on the wall together.

the conversion is spot on too. Especially in the first one.

Gorgeous shots Peter :) Lovely presentation too. Conversion is super, really like the contrast. I especially like #1 and love the leading line from left to right.
As a result of the leading line, i’m not sure the shot needs that much foreground :?: I’d try cropping a good chunk off the bottom. #2 and #3 are gorgeous, love the texture, depth, tone :) Three crackers (with cheese  )
