hi all, just bought a Pentax KX, first slr, and have been looking at bags etc. I am not going to the Amazon, so not interested in paying megabucks for a bag, only have kit lens so dont need huge bag. Any suggestions please? Would prefer something light, maybe a backpack?

thanks stevie, i suppose after spending 420 on the camera, another 50 for a bag wont break the bank. will have a look at it.

well this is great i spent a few hours the other night looking at bags so i can help you out nice and fresh.

Dont make the mistake i made. I bought a small bag, enough for a camera, with an 18-200mm mounted on it and 1 lens and 1 flash. Or 2 lenses and now with 2 new lenses arriving in the new year i’ve to buy a new one. The one im using at the minute i bought in a camera store in dublin. Its perfect for travel and i’ll probably still keep it for going abroad but im buying myself a new one in the new year along with my 10-24mm and 70-200mm lenses.
Camera bags arent cheap, not for a decent one. If your looking to expand your collection at a later point buy something that’d support 2-3 lenses on top of what you have already. You can always stuff something else in there if needs be, but if your planning on maybe 1 lens more then just get one like mine.

this is the one im using at the minute and means you wouldnt have to remove your lens when you packed it away.

If your planning on getting a backpack your gunna pay between 50-75 and in some cases 100euro for a bag. I’ve yet to find an affordable backpack style camerabag for a single camera/lens kit. So your best bet is to maybe go into your local store and ask do they have anything that’d suit you. Or check out Argos and see if they have anything for you. I know they have a small selection of camera bags which would suit you best.

I hope that helps a little and i didnt loss track of what i was saying half way through :)

*also if your interested these guys http://www.intro2020.co.uk/pages/products.htm do a great selection of just about anything you could be looking for*

ha i think you shut me up about not being able to find a cheap one :D thats a nice bag, would suit your purposes perfectly.
My girlfriend would kill me if i said anything bad about german stuff (shes from trier) looks perfect. Only thing that’d put me off is the shipping costs. Poke around see if you can find the same bag somewhere cheaper first but thats still not bad.

;) Well, i did spend a couple of hours looking, was a bit gutted by the P&P, but they dont have an Irish or UK supplier. might have to chase up some friendly germans, your girlfriend not going home for a visit any time soon is she? lol.
