Camera equipment missing

Just after hearing a notice on our local radio station “Galway Bay FM” in which there was a notice regarding a tourist whose “Canon” camera bag went missing somewhere between Galway and Athlone yesterday. There is a reward of €1,000 for it’s return which would obviously lead you to believe that it was professional equipment that has gone astray.
I’d suggest if any PI member is offered some “Canon” gear in some unusual circumstances, they should recall this story. Contact Galway Bay FM regarding the reward (091) 770077
Man, I know how bad I’d feel if my equipment went astray!!

Sounds odd between Galway & Athlone!……….I wonder if he was on a bus, and left it in the “hold”?

Yeah it’s very strange, the radio station didn’t give a lot of information regarding the circumstances. I’d imagine that he might have checked the bus company if he was traveling Paddy (well… hope he would anyway)
The owner was a tourist and has returned home (think he’s from New Zealand). Hearing stories about fellow PI members having equipment stolen in Barcelona, it’s sad to think that its happening hear too.

My heart goes out them, I would be gutted if that had happened to me…… There are some real barstewards in this world!

Good idea, we’ve had success in the past here on the site with tracing stolen goods believe it or not.
I contacted the radio station earlier today to try and get some more information. The tourist traveled from Galway to Athlone in a taxi on July 31st. His Canon Camera Bag and Canon equipment went astray on this journey (don’t ask me how???) Radio station didn’t have a detailed description of equipment.
The only contact information left by the tourist was his American mobile telephone number (he’s returned to America). I phoned it this afternoon (about 5 hours ago) and left a voicemail explaining the “Photography Ireland Website” and basically tried to offer him some help.
Haven’t heard from him yet. Will post further info if I get any.
