    Can anyone advise –

I’m looking for a few recommendation on good quality cameras with video recording capabilities. Digital SLR-type is my first thought but something more compact that offers more control over shutter speed etc would be preferred.

The video recording is an important element and should offer high quality recording and playback.

Current cameras in use are Lumix DMC-F2 but quality of video and lack of control over camera not good enough.

If anyone has any recommendation or advice I’d really appreciate it. Any links would help.

    Thanks!!

Lumix are great little cameras for photographs, if video is more important then why buy
what is essentially a camera for picture taking why not invest in a good quality video
camera? I dont think “allrounders” work there is bound to be compromise somewhere
whether it be in the photographs or in the video quality. It is like expecting a zoom
lens to be as good as a prime….doesnt happen!

I am very impressed with the quality of video produced by my Sony NEX-5

Still image isn’t too shabby either, the camera is compact and has probably got all the manual control you would require.

I am using Sony SLT-A65 and its really good for me to take pictures. The best thing which I like about this camera is that takes quality pictures in low lights as well.
