Can I get you a coffee, sir?

This is what I do when I’m not taking photographs. Though usually the two collide at some point.

A tasty cappuccino in a glass, with a pretty rosetta- which obviously makes it taste better.

    Very nice, I want one.
I think the composition would have been better if the full base of the glass were in veiw but thats me.

Cheers Jim, I think you’re right on getting in the base of the glass. I’ll have to try again- and hopefully pour a rosetta like that again!! I never seem to pour them as well when the camera is waiting. Usually when I pour a good one, I make some exclamations, hope someone is around to see it, and then run and grab my camera before the foam settles!

Thanks Sinead. Try Cafe Krem in Newry for a great coffee!

Well I am just waking up here~~

    This does it for me!

Can almost smell the gorgeous aroma…well done!

By the way..I have been experimenting with angles for cups like these..and it is tricky getting the most out it.

Since you said you get to do this a lot…I’d love to see what other viewpoints you can perfect.

    Thanks Sharon,

This one was home made- so I can shoot them anytime I like. Though that can be half the problem!

The angle for the cup is tricky all right. Usually you can go much lower than you think you can. Then I get torn between shooting the cup or the latte art!

Since you love the food photos, here is a blog you might enjoy. Written by Michael Ray, a rather fine food photographer, it has some excellent articles and tutorials.

Yep, Cafe Krem is good.. Se taught me how to make a coffee.. So if your ever in
Tollymore Forest Park pop over to Hotrock and you’ll get a nice one in there too

Hard to beat Olive (beside Newry court house) for coffee though.. Lovely yummies too!

Look nice… and I don’t even like coffee!

I think the DOF is a little shallow for my liking (just a smidge) but nice shot none the less.

Sinead- I will def have to pop into hotrock. Is it a cafe for the public or just your climbers? Se is one of the best baristas in the UK, so you learned from the right man! I haven’t been in the olive, though it looks lovely.

Cheers Danielle- I have tempted many a non-coffee drinker over to the dark side with these!! On a photography note, I think you’re right about the dof! f8 the next time!

Well Pete… Most come to climb and have a coffee when they are there. It’s a little rough and ready for a coffee shop.. But the coffee is good.. (most of the time).

    Sinead.
