The Canon 17-40 L’s condition is simply – perfect. well looked after
comes with original box, leather pouch, hood and both caps, I even have the plastic bags I think!with 77mm UV filter + 77mm Soligor CPL + 77mm R72 red filter for B&W IR Photography

What camera did you use to compare the image quality of both of these? I’ve just got a 5D2 and was thinking of a wide angle full-frame lens. If the Sigma was as good at 21mp, then I might be interested.

Used the 5D.
I found that the sigma was better at controling blue/red abberations
but had more distortion on the right side towards the edge but better
distortion control at the bottom right corner.the Canon I think had ever so slightly resolving power in the centre
but only by a Gnats chuff I think?But of course that was pixel peeping comparisons!
I will try to post some of the samples tests and 100% crops for you
