Canon 300v & 28-90mm lens broken?

I have this camera awhile & the AF seems to be broken, I have to focus manually and it is a bit of hit & miss.
Will the whole camera need fixing or just the lens? Where do I send it to be fixed?You will have to try a different lens on the camera to verify if its the lens or body.
PRS in Portabello or any Canon dealer will repair but check the 2nd hand values in case it would be cheaper to replace.
I have a 300V that I don’t need or really want, if you do decide to replace it.
