Canon 40d, travel lens

Am looking to buy a Canon 40d body, also a versatile lens that is suitable for travel purposes (e.g. can be used for landscapes, and for street shots). Seperately or together.
Happy to pay whatever has been the going rate on this site for same.
I’m selling a 17-85mm alongside my 400D, but I’m willing to sell the lens on it’s own.
It’s a good lens to walk about with.
