I use a 50 1.4 as my main lens. Its streets ahead of your currenly lenses. paul ashleycort31Participant November 23, 2010 at 6:51 pm Thanks for the feedback paul! ashleycort31Participant November 24, 2010 at 8:37 am gaffo wrote: you will get fantastic results with a 50 mm prime lens, especially if you shoot people Great for low light and really sharp. You use your feet to frame the shot. Sometimes refered as to ‘foot focus’ bren ashleycort31Participant November 24, 2010 at 4:30 pm ok that makes sense, thanks bren brendancullenParticipant November 24, 2010 at 5:22 pm I forgot to say that it is worth getting – and i’d recommend it. I have one. The 50mm f1/4 is of course a better lens – but its ST £269.00. the f1/2 version is approx ST£1300 You won’t get a better lens for €100. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_5_14?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=canon+50mm+1.2&x=0&y=0&sprefix=canon+50mm+1.2#/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=canon+50mm+1.8&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Acanon+50mm+1.8 here’s the flickr group for this lens – so you can browse its possibilities. http://www.flickr.com/groups/99827226N00/ bren ashleycort31Participant November 25, 2010 at 3:21 pm Thanks for the link, the results are great for a lens that costs only a 100 quid, i will definitely add one of these to my collection!! thanks for all the help!
