Canon 6D – Why such a price difference?

Hi folks, I was wondering if you could lend me some advice please. I am considering purchasing a new Canon 6D – the price in Ireland is roughly €1800, but it is just short of €1300 here:

I suspect that this is a UK website, surely there is a catch? It just seems to good to be true, or are the Irish retailers just more expensive due to various reasons?

I read some of the responses from the customer services of Valuebasket to some irate customers & found it amazing that they used the exact same wording as the customer services of Simplyelectronics…. What are the chances?
As you can see from their “About us” page – there is no address.

So these sites are basically run by individual or small team from a bedroom – and some will supply the goods via Hong Kong or Singapore.
If your lucky enough to eventually get one – you may have to pay VAT & Customs….but most probably will ship to Ireland from the UK.If your really looking to save money – buy it from Adorama.com – have it shipped to a friend in the USA for free – and wait ’till you have someone bring it home. This works out around €1400.

Another thing to consider is what happens if there is a fault.
