Bought one of these little fellahs last week.

What a cracking little camera. Used it in the studio last week. On it’s normal colour settings it’s a bit “Canon compact”, that is, strong and punchy colours. There’s diffraction softening above F4! At 2.8 it is as sharp as sharp can be. I printed a few 9×6″s and they look great.

    Summary of features:

Full manual control (if you want it), including manual flash, so can be sued to fire studio lights. (Great for teaching)
    Pictbridge
F2.8 at wide end of lens, F4.8 at tele end.
    Image stabilisation in lens.
Iso80,100,200 (all usable), then 400,800, rubbish (as with all but the Fuji compacts) but better than most.
Flash value and exposure lock in the auto modes (so no pre-flashes and blinks), almost instant shutter response once focus and exposure are locked.
    6x zoom (around 35-210 35mm equiv)
Many “Colour” overrides, natural and accurate clours are possible.
viewfinder for landscapes on bright days (won’t be using that then).
nice bright LCD with wide viewng angle.
    AA batteries

yes, you guessed it, I love it!

Oh dear Si, in that case I’d advise not to fire studio lights, just in case it’s sued!
