Canon EF 100mm F2.8 USM Macro

Having had my eye on this lense for a while I finally got it on Saturday and got it in Ireland too which I was delighted to be able to keep my money here. Cheapest I could get it in from UK with postage was 500 euro approx…..had it on order with calumet but they were taking ages…I wonder if they are getting scarce since they stopped making them?? or have they? Pixmania had them for about 500 too but that seems to have gone up again
Anyway the local Harvey Norman had them for 489 which considering the mark up on their other lenses was a great price. Turned out they had none in stock so looked at the display model. Had a slight scratch but tried it in store and wasnt in any of the shots I took (would a scratch on the front turn up on the photos in call cases???). Anyway bargained them down to 400 euro for the display cos of the slight scratch with the guarantee I could take it back if there was an issue.
Just a note to alert people of the decent price for this lense if anyone is looking for one
It’s a really nice sharp lens and as well as being great for macro actually makes a very good portrait lens as well.
