brianmaclParticipant
new €800 at most with a shop warantee
less VAT €658
after capital allowance €395
discount for second hand €250€400 without a receipt or any warantee sounds bloody reasonable and if someone came back to me I might have went up a bit
Shutter BugMemberStrange, that for whatever reason when I’m trying to sell something here, there’s always someone with something to say, whether to high or low.
I don’t know you, I have more important things going on in my life to start an argument on a forum.
If anyone’s really interested, pls PM me.
Thanx
drominParticipantYou ask for 500 for 2 items — I offer you 440 — Offer €440 for the 580EX11 and 1.4 extender and bag. I think is reasonable – both second hand and 580 is marked. Can collect in Arklow.
brianmaclParticipantI take it you have never worked in business? negocitated?
invitation to treat is followed by offer
offer tends to be followed by counter offer or statement
this tends to be followed by another offer or statement, in this case I made a simple statement explaining my offer and you come back with a thinly vailed insult.I sent the link to this thread on to another photographer who is looking for lighting gear, they responded by saying your price was “taking the piss” and they would not want to do business with you as you came acrcoss as an “idiot”,
st-e2’s are being sold on adverts for €150 or are sold brand new for 250, I have explained my offer, so I would expect a reasonable person to come back to me with some sort of a non insulting reply.
Re PM v open reply on forum, I am new enough here and I am not totally up to date on the ethics here as to when to reply by pm or reply on the open forum, now just because I did not pm you I do not expect my offer to be taken less seriously.
yours
A very unimpressed
Brian MacLShutter BugMemberActually, I’m in Marketing and fairly successful as well.
Luckily, I’m not easily offended, calling me an idiot (under the cover of ‘what someone else said’) amd whatever else you might think is a bit petty.
Your entitled to your own opinion, but I’m asking you now, for the respect of the other posters here, don’t reply, your embarassing yourself.I’ve sold one item already, busy negotiating another two.
Good Luck with whatever your doing, but please stop replying to my posts.Thank You
FYI, I’ve ran 2 websites, had 2 shops on eBay, had one on eBid.net (latter was for research) and I use to sell Semi Pro gear (mostly Canon) from home, more for fun than anything else, had a fair sized client base, that’s how I got into Photography.
brianmaclParticipantUp until now I did not think you were an idiot, I did however put up the highlights of a mail about this thread. But now you have posted an antaganising shot at me and then asked me to stop replying, surely you did not expect that to work. so either you are an idiot, you like arguing or you believe by being the top thread you expect to sell faster due to higher throughput. Personnally I am going for option 1.
Secondly I do not beleive I am embarising my self. rather I do feel that you are getting slightly pee’d at me but I feel that I have pointed out some obvious problems with your pricing of some items. and maybe aided some people in seeing that these prices do not represent anything close to a good deal.
Shutter BugMemberWell, I’ve sold one item and are si=orting out another two.
I’m not getting pee’d of at you or even annoyed, just wondering why you keep on going on, I started the post, it’s my sales, you’ve said what you wanted, why do you need to say more?
MarkKeymasterFolks,
Keep this civil and re-read the general site rules regarding behaviour !!!.
Its also good manners to respond to a bid either accepting or rejecting it. The bid is posted
in the thread and therefore should be responded to in the thread.I’ll be modifying the for sale rules to this effect.
It is up to the seller to sell at whatever price they see fit, be that reasonable or not.
If something is priced too high then its at the sellers loss. Also in the For Sale rules is:
– A comment regarding where you can get it cheaper etc… is not allowed. Any such responses will
be removed without warning or explanation.Shutter BugMemberThanx Mark, I’ve been trying to keep it civilised. I started the post after all.
I’ve sold most items now anyway, 1 left, although a bit left, but putting your the prices a bit higher usually ensures you still get a decent price and I think everone understands that.
I always respond when someone PM me, not when they just leave a general offer, cause I can’t go round PM every single person, and I did leave a general respond for eveyone to read.
