Taken at the Drogehda Arts festival at the weekend. They do this once a year, guys dress up in old time gear and fire the canons (without the canon ball) over the town. Its deafening.
I think #1 would have been better with a wider view maybe taking in the
person/s firing the canon.
The fire from the front of the canon is well captured.
#2 is a nice portrait of the 3 gentlemen with nice colours.
Maybe a shallower DOF might have isolating them from the background might
have improved it.
I also think the item to the left of the frame is not necessary or if it is possibly more
of it should have been included.
I know its not always possible to control these situations (Possibly many people snapping?) but
if the 3 had been looking into your lens it would have been much better.
I hope I don’t sound too hard. It’s only one opinion.
Thanks John for replying. There were tonnes of photographers at the event, mostly from the Drogheda camera club. Some from the Drogheda Independent. The guys in the red were looking at the pros :) I had serious lense envy looking at them all.
The crane in the background certainly looks out of place with the 3 guys :) The item to the left in #2 is the end of the Canon. Could have cropped it out.
