Canon Fish Eye Lens

I am looking to try my hand at a little “fish eye” photography. Trouble is I’m not sure how much I want to get into it at the minute. I was wondering if there was a “filter” on the market at the minute which would give me the effect of a fish eye lens with out the massive expense of buying the real McCoy? Anyone out there recommend a product to start off with?
