Canon powershot G7 help!

I went to my camera this morning and when i powered it on the lens wouldn’t go out, it just went out a little and then when I pressed it again it went out a little more, the LCD didn’t come on and i had to enter playback mode to turn it off. I can’t figure out what’s wrong but I think it’s something to do with the lens.. Help, please!? :?
If there’s nothing to be done should I send it away to Canon? I was thinking of taking it into Jessops this week and seeing if they could do anything..?
Barry, it could be anything I guess. I’d say that the best option would be to take it into Jessops and see what they
think. Is it in warranty ? If so, then they might package it up and send it off for repair for you.If it not in warranty check your contents insurance cover as if you have droped it the insurance would save the day
I’m not sure about the warranty, it was given to me by my uncle and he bought it in Canada but I’m going to Derry this weekend so I’ll pop into Jessops and hope for the best :lol:
