Hi am planing on upgrade’n my canon 350D an have a few in mind, they are the 50D 60D or the 7D, I would class myself as an all rounder, from portraits, landscape, motorsport etc, i would be particularly interested in comments from owners of the above cameras, but then all advice is very welcome,
tsergairlMemberHi Dave,
give us a more detail, in eg: how much do u want to spend ,I’ve got two 50 and 500 D and i am very happy, and of course i recomm 50D :-)

eddie65ParticipantDave I have the 50d and take a lot of sports inages and find it great, But if I were buying now I would go for the 7d because it had the video capability and also if I am no mistaken it has built in trigger to fire anoff camera flash which would be useful for portraits ect.
brendancullenParticipantHi Dave – i have a 7D for the last 5 months.
Why i like it.
18 Megapixels
integrated cleaning system
19 cross-type AF points
63 zone Dual Layer metering
100% viewfinder
3.0 ” TFT LCD
8 x frames a second
integrated Wireless multi-flash support.Why i don’t like it.
Only a 1.6x sensor. I couldn’t afford the full frame 5D MK2 at the time. I should have waited a little more. Its a pretty decent semi-pro camera though.

dave350dParticipantHave around €1500 max to spend, fair bit of outdoor use, any 60d users out there, would be interested on your view
rbreenMemberHi Dave,
I have a 60d, have had it for the last 2-3 months I upgraded from a 450d. It was the best thing I ever did. It’s a fantastic Camera, The rotating screen it brilliant when you are using a tri pod and also the HD videos. I was looking at the 7d at the time but it was out of my price range and also a little too advanced for what i am doing.
I really have nothing but praise for the 60d but then again I am only shooting with an SLR for just over a year. I spent about €1,600.00 on it but got a very nice lens with it, and use my old 70-300 Sigma from the 450d.
The only thing I would say is that the battery is different to the 450d therefore cant use the spares I had, but on the other hand the battery that the 60d uses is far better so not really a complaint….
hope this helps somewhat.
Rory.
dave350dParticipantHi, thank’s for give’n ur view’s on the cameras i’m interested in upgrade’n to, would have like’d a wider view on all cameras, when the fund’s allow i think a 7d will be on the shopping list,
tommykelsoMemberI had the 50D and thought it was great – performed well for portraits and landscapes.
Though with the introduction of the 60D, if your budget allows, I would go for this due to the added extra HD Video, swivel screen etc
Just my thoughts :)
adrianmatthewsParticipantI have a 7D for a couple of months, does what is says on the tin, very comfortable in your hand also.
The best thing is it bounces….!!!!!!!
I has a big fall, camera was thrown quite a distance, came away with three minor scratches and no internal damage, very well built.
