Canon worldwide warranty? Ebay digigood?

Two questions in one really
Im looking to buy a Canon 550d through the ebay seller ‘digigood’, reviews are good and the prices are cheap, alot cheaper than usual retail. I am lead to believe the camera is names the Rebel t21 or kiss x4 in America/Japan respectively, but has the exact same specs. Have searched through various forums and everything seems to be fine in terms of quality of product.
There is a 1 year guarantee through the seller with this, so I therefore pose the question has anyone dealt with Digigood before? and Iv heard that canon warranties are worldwide so that an american model name such as the rebel could be returned to an irish canon dealer for repair?
Would all of this be correct?brendancullenParticipantAsian or Grey imports. My advise is don’t buy.
Get a quote from this company in Dublin – i bought my 7D there last April and they were the best price…anywhere.

Call these or Conn’s and ask them would they repair a camera that you bought in the UK through eBay, imported from Hong Kong – and see what they say.

ossie13ParticipantHi I bought my Canon s90 thro’ Digigood and was very impressed by their service and quick delivery within 48 hours. They supply US Canon gear and give there own warranty. Also buying from them you will not be liable for import tax etc…
Cheers Steve
brownieParticipantHi Ossie…how do you make out that you wo’nt be liable for any import taxes ? If getting it from anywhere but through the EU, you
will be liable for import taxes as far as I understand and at the moment the customs in Ireland are checking a lot more stuff
and issueing bills when the postman knocks at the door.Noel.

Noel it is a UK based company and ships from there!! Whatever there deal is with canon they supply US goods so charger needs adapter and as stated is their warranty!
Cheers Steve
JoxerParticipantBought some filters from them twice and never had any problems. The only problem I had was the Irish postal service not delivering in the snow and the items were returned to digigood, and all credit to them, they resent the items again, FOC.
lousyParticipantI found them great, I ordered a Canon G12 on Thursday an had it on Monday, As for guarantee..well I hope I never need it.

DepthOfFeelParticipantSounds good, hard to justify buying it locally (as much as it pains) me when there is a £170 price difference with brand new on digigood
Think I’ll make the jump then. Would hope to never need the warranty either, but murphies law and all that
