Canon’s DPP updated to version 2.2

Canon have just released DPP 2.2 but if you want it you’ll have to download it from their USA Download site as it’s not yet available on their European site. Changes include the ability to use DPP noise reduction on JPEGs or TIFFs and a revamped tone curve tool.
Other updates include ImageBrowser 5.7.2 (Mac), ZoomBrowser EX 5.7.0 (Windows), EOS Utility 1.1 (Mac/Windows) and CameraWindow DSLR 5.3.2 (Windows).
As is Canon’s standard practice, most or all of the software updaters mentioned above will only run on computers that have Canon software already installed.
SteveDParticipantWell spotted Thorsten. I’m going through a bit of a DPP spell at the moment, so looking forward to getting it updated later tonight.

Personally I think it’s an excellent, largely under-rated piece of software. It’s what ultimately led to me shooting RAW exclusively, when I saw just how quick and easy a RAW workflow could be with DPP. No need for Photoshop anymore (for a lot of my work).
richiehatchMemberI keep switching between DPP and ACR… ACR does some really clever things but also some downright annoying things…. Will download this tonight and see what its like… it really is a very well written piece of software… I really pity the Nikon people having to shell out for their raw converter when us canon people get this excellant package thrown in with the camera..! Cheers for the heads up..!

FintanParticipantgerardkParticipantI would agree with an earlier comment that dpp is very underrated and very useful. Just been trying out the new version and have to say its got a lot of small improvements that all add up – well impressive. The new manual is well worth checking out for anyone downloading the upgrade.

Looking at the manual – it seems to be for DPP 2.0 – is that the same one you’re looking at ?

No – its definitely v 2.2 – I got it from the download page that appears eventually after following the above link.
FrankCParticipantYep – I see that one, now that I’ve started downloading – thanks.
The old one was on the “Software Manuals” heading.
