Can’t see the wood…

For anyone who might like trees…

Took this at the weekend near the ruins of Fore Priory. Just playing about
with Wonkafan’s sharpening method using the lightness channel in LAB mode.
Certainly helps to lift the details, though probably not appreciably so at
this scale. Still, I thought I’d post anyway…

I like this Rob something visually appealling about it if you look it actually follows the rule of thirds in an odd way from the forest to the clouds to the blue sky

Thanks for your comments two Johns…
It looks much better larger though.

It has an interesting feel about it. I don’t think the sharpening thechnique helped at such a small scale though – better than none.

I must pass on another one that helps bring out definition in the clouds…

It’d take your eye out Rob-

The interesting thing about this technique is the marked absence of the usual halos-
but it does have a slightly brittle look –

    Perfectly sharpened!
I’m afraid the trees are a bit deep in shadow, leaving
this pretty much a sky shot. However, it does have a
wide, open spaces, big country feel about it.

    Thanks all for looking.
Brittle. I like that word Joseph. Could have used it as a title even…
