Cape Recief just outside Port Elizabeth South Africa

  • A few image I took on a business trip, unfortunatly none of the images of the lighthouse came out right but it was not a complete waste as I did get these. Please feel free to C&C, it is always appreciated good or bad :)

Welcome to teh site, Gillon. Great first posts.

I like teh second – it feels a bit more balaced than the frst (the marker seems to be leraning over!) and I prefer the warmer processing in ot compared to the third. The foreground provides balance and leads teh eye in to the picture.

Was it very bright/hazy? – the sky has nice colour banding but seems a bit featureless, or is that just South Africa!

    Kepe them coming.

Welcome aboard Gillon – and some nice first posts there…… Looks like a great spot for a business trip.

I think the first shot may benefit from just a cm or 2 off the bottom to bring things into balance.

Hi Lemon; welcome from another South African, who’s been in Dublin for 8 years.

The 2nd and 3rd work best for me. Nice balance of foreground interest and background, with lovely colours.

BM: that featureless area you see is called a cloudless sky :-) Happens quite a lot in SA…….

That happened here once many years ago. We called it the end of the world.

Thanks for all the replies, cloudless and hot most days :) and it is a wonderful place for a business trip… I always try to squeeze in a few hours to get some photo’s in.

Thanks for the crit I will crop the first one and repost it :)

    Welcome Gillon.

The second one works for me also. The colours in the sky are great.

Take plenty of photos of that “cloudless sky” while you’re there. You’ll need them to remind you what it looks like when you get here :)
