first car show i’ve been too.. took some close up shots of details on the cars, didn’t get any full body cars cause they were packed in too tight.. c&c greatly appreciated since this was my first attempt at car photography. processed in lightroom.

Hey Beth, I like the look of these. I’ve tried taking shots of cars recently and didn’t
get anything I’d be showing you guys :).

Some super colours on both. I like the reflections on the second shot, especially in the headlights.

    Hi beth.

I have to say I love these. It kinda reminds me of the comedy series “Happy Days” and that genre. The processing work is superb. I’ll PM you on Lightroom.

Oh beth! These are so good.

This was all done in RAW I assume?

You really are getting fantastic results from Lightroom and I can tell you are having a blast with it.

Though I am partial to the colors you choose for the first, the reflections in the headlights of the second are wonderful

They both would make wonderful posters for a boy’s room. Very well done!

Yea – excellent colours and tones!! The side chrome on car in the second picture has a reflection of a full car in it – super detail.

    thanks everyone.
a question i have (sorry, i’m not a car person) do those yellow knobs in the steering wheel shot belong there or were they added at a later date? i didn’t notice them until i was post processing.
these shots were done within 5 minutes each in lightroom.. thats including the time it took to save a full size jpg and web size jpg. i’m sure you can get the same exact results in ps, but lr is so much quicker and easier (and i really don’t know how to get these tones in ps without resorting to hdr software..)

Two gorgeous shots Beth. As already said, the colours are fantastic and choice of angle is great imo. Really nicely composed.

Just to agree with the others – came back to these again since first seeing them and think they are both very good – specially the first, composition wise it seems the stronger. Not sure what those yellow things knobs are in that shot -they look like they might be later additions to the car but its hard to tell.

As for the yellow knobs – for my 2c I think they look fine. I guess the one on the left is the choke for the engine and it would have to have some kind of grip on it as the chrome would be too slippy to pull out (it would be pretty stiff). Not sure if the original was yellow – but its possible :-)#

My guess for what it’s worth is that the one by the steering column at least, may be some kind of automatic pushbutton ignition. I’ve looked online and it’s not uncommon to find these fitted to vintage cars…especially one’s used a lot in shows. 8)

Superb shots Beth, great how you caught the metal shine off the car.

The two yellow buttons that I can see in the picture, could be as already said one for the choke.
The another one I think, could be pulled out for the windscreen wipers or the car hood.
