Nice sky and lovely warm colours Padraig, though I think the front bale
looks a little overpowering, if a little more space were given in front
of it, it might have been better?PadraigParticipantThanks Jenny. Don’t do many landscapes. Was trying out my new wide angle. Thanks for commenting.
RASMITH32MemberI like it. nice sharpness all the way through and composition is good (for me). The eye runs nicely top the mountain in the background. Is the sky just a little dark?, Is this teh original sky or is it a nuber of exposures merged?
PadraigParticipantThanks RAS. It is the original sky but HDR processed. I tried not to over do it.Here is a non HDR version
code187ParticipantPadraigParticipantThanks Austin. I’m inclined to agree. I never quite know what I’m doing when it comes to HDR, just messing about with sliders!
miki gParticipantHi Padraig.
The non-HDR version looks good, but I prefer the warmth of the bales in the HDR version. I would be happy with either of them. Well doneRASMITH32MemberMaybe just a contrast boost to the sky or copy the layer and set it to an overlay blending mode with a capacity of around 50% and paint in with a layer mask for the sky only. The HDR does bring out nice detail in the straw
flynnyParticipantMaybe a little more contrast in the sky,
It looks a tad flat,
Otherwise its a fine shot.markclehaneParticipantHi Padraig. As has been mentioned, that sky is more of an issue in my opinion than the bales. I’m guessing you didn’t use a polariser? That should have been enough to bring up a good sky I’d say. Still something I like about it though. Have a similar one myself but your composition has more impact.
PadraigParticipantThanks everyone for all the comments. I’ll take another look at the sky as suggested. I actually did use a polarizer, but it was a cheap ebay one and I expected better results. I must invest in a quality one. As I said earlier I don’t do much landscape so i really appreciate the feedback. :D
