    Nice sky and viewpoint Mark

I can see you composed to include reflection with the horizon almost centred – this can work well though i don’t think the half reflection of boat is adding to this image as the water area is too dark – try cropping to leave the horizon at the bottom third still leaving some of the sky/boat reflection – i think this would improve the overall image and help focus on the silhouette and the great sky

also just an idea not sure how it’d work in practice – i wonder if you had a torch to paint in light on the boat to bring out details or flash ?? – just a thought

    Keep posting :)

    Hi Mark,

Welcome to Photography Ireland and well done with this photograph which
makes for an excellent first image post.

I’m a bit of a fan of early morning or late evening pictures and this is a nice example.
The colours and reflections are really appealing.

Jason has given some good suggestion re experimenting with different compositions
in order to get the one that works best.

I look forward to seeing more.

    Cheers.

    John.

    Hi,
Mark welcome to PI (about time :D ). Seen it printed and this doesn’t really do it justice. Jason’s ideas might get that last picture for the assignment, can’t wait for you to explain to Trevor what you have done.

    Keep posting unlike me.

Well done Mark. Lovely colours. Once you start shooting in the “golden hours” it can become infectious.

Thanks John, I would love to get out early every morning, but work, golf and the lovely weather we always seem to have here stop me. Maybe if summer ever comes round again :!: :!: :!:
