Had a family picnic, bbq at this great location over the weekend

Pity the sun was so strong when I took these and I did not have time to hang about to get the nice evening light. Planning on a weekend camping trip here so might get nicer light.

    Cheers. Dee

    All very nice Dee,

How long did it take you to find a way out of the maze? It took me and the family the best part of an hour !!

Photographically, the second shot appeals to me most. A lovely composition and feel to it.

Beautiful castle, built in 1856 by Earl Annesley. There is also a fantastic aboretum there with plants from all over the world.
Brilliant for camping as you hope to do Dee. I camped there with St Pauls boy scouts many moons ago. This place evokes
some great memories of a bygone era. Oh as well second one well composed…..John! :)

    Ta chaps.
Hi Andy- took us almost 45 minutes or so. Bloody nitemare and the two kids were really starting to panic. My da was on the bridge trying to relay instructions to use – comical.

First time I have been to this place , but on the strength of this trip we have now booked the private campsite next to the river for a weekend in July. Will be about 20 or so of us and we have hired boats, kayaks and wetsuits. Well looking forward to this.

I also like the second shot, although I would maybe crop a little off the right to remove that little jetty.

Ah, a lake I know only too well, having swam 1200m in it, biked around local roads and run twice round the lake all on a blisteringly hot August day.
That aside, I really like the 2nd too. The last one looks like a perfect shot for a nice glossy forestry brochure.
    Nice.

cheers for the comment folks, second shot is my fave too. I plan to reshoot the first one in better light as I feel there is a decent shot with the bridge and the mountains in the background.

Sounds like a terrible experience Brian :-) I walked the whole way around and I was knackered!

    Thanks, Dee
