Cattle Drive

This morning, just a few miles out of town I ran into a cattle drive. Usually short but this one was for a total of 16 miles. “Good fences make good neighbors” but terrible for drives so the hwy is used instead.

Thank goodness that the cowboys of the west still survive.

Gives a whole new meaning to “a sixteen mile tailback” A great excuse for
    being late for work though.

Looks pretty c-c-cold! Is that frost on the horses back in the 2nd shot? I like the DOF and the way the mountains are included, putting the location in context. The 1st shot is my favourite, I like the way the entire background is the out of focus mountains with no sky at all. I’d prefer if the composition was a bit different with less space to the left/behind the cowboy and a bit more space to the right for him to ride into.

It took awhile to drive through because they were going in my direction but once thru I could find a spot where the Mission Mts were in the background. Waited for 1 hour before they came by.
I was in my car so some shots were not exactly what I wanted but still fun
