I’ll give you my take on it.. others will have their own idea’s.. So for this scene, I think you should have aimed to have had the whole boat in view, maybe a step back and to the side, that way you would have had more of the decking coming in from the bottom corner leading you’re eye to the boat and then to the rest of the image! Does that make sense? Because to me the boat is the main focus of this image. This would also eliminate (somewhat) the left side of the image, that piece of boat on the bottom left corner and that building above it.
Also practice on getting your horizontals straight when hand holding the camera, this shot would certainly benefit from a straight horizon… Also shooting sunset can be quite tricky, getting the exposure right and the like, the mage looks a tad underexposed…
