Charity Gig Waterford City

Taken at an Oxfam Charity Gig creatively named Oxjam in Waterford City,
Did these shots for this band “Desecrate”, good gig in all1, not much work just contrast really
2. This was Cross Processed and slightly desaturated
3. Just black and white + contrast
4. Cropped, black and white, added contrast
Love the effects on these… especially #2… can I asked how you achieved this?
#2 is a corker. Great use of rear-curtain. Does the red tinge on the motion blur come from the stage lights maybe? A conversion to b&w might be in order?

Thanks j and Punk Rocknfl-fan: Basically it was a rear curtauin sync bounced flash (white ceiling),
red lights were on so i assume that gave the red trails, themn it was slightly desaturated and cross processed.Yep all Rear Curtain Sync I think….may changed it once, but went back.
Harry Lime: I’ll give it ago in B&W to see how tis ;)Cheers es… unfortunatley I haven’t ventured into any sort of flash photography… so I’m totally lost with “rear curtains”… but someday I’ll tackle the flash and come back to this technique.

Tis handy for gigs seein as most are terribly lit.
This place was really dark was only getting 1/4sec at f1.8, ISO 1600! :(I bought the new 430EX II yesterday and the manual looks complicated!
I def needed an external mic though as the internal flash was ruining some pics on me, too harsh a light on subjects etcTry an off camera shoes cord with the 430, it’ll give a better look and keep the rear sync option alive off camera.
