Cheapest place to buy Compact Flash Cards?

I need a 4gb Compact Flash card for my 400D – preferably a high speed one.
Where si the cheapest place to buy them? Online I mean – there is no way I am getting ripped off in an Irish Shop.
a high speed card will be costly.
I bought a 2Gb SanDisk Extreme III (x133) CF Card last week on eBay for ?15.00. Brand new in box.
I have just bought some extreme IV 2 gig cards from expansys.ie for like 50 euro each
be very careful of the ones on ebay (particularly the ones from the far east) as some clever person figured out how to make a 1 gig card look like a 4 gig.
All of the cards are made with the same ammount of storage then are made into smaller cards as they fail at high rates, and this person has figured out how to re program them back to 4 for example.
the problem with this is that your then using the storage which failed the manufactures testing and effectivley using a faulty card.
it is a false economy to buy ‘cheap’ cards, imagine shooting and gtting that once in a lifetime shot etc and then the card failing. its not worth the risk

Is it worth it paying extra for the “High Speed” versions?
i have a couple of other brand ‘fast’ cards, the buffer fills on my 40d much quicker with these than with the san disk ones
so if you shooting sports wildlife etc where you want to run of a rapid bunch of shots, the sandisk either III or IV is the way to go
funny, I was talking to my photography tutor last week and he said it thought it was funny people paying loads for really fast cards, but that the “extra” speed of the card is actually lost as the camera can’t write at the max. of the card. So it was a waste of money.
He mentioned that only top end cameras could make uses of the faster cards.
Extreme III does more than enough for my landscape shots.for landscape stuff where your not trying to fire off a series of images quickly it doesnt matter
but my camer is not top end, both my 30 and 40d i can max out the buffer very quickly and get a much longer burst when using the sandisk cards

Check out http://www.memoryc.com. They’re an Irish company based in Celbridge. For Compact Flash and memory in general I’ve always found them to wipe the floor with everyone else. Worth a look.

I’ll second this suggestion – all of my CF cards have come from http://www.7dayshop.com
All my memory cards are Extreme IV cards from 7dayshop.com
And I certainly have noticed that they are faster to write to than other cards for my 20D and 40D.

epansys are around 10 euro cheaper per 2 gig extreme IV than pixmania
but it depends on each different card i guess
