Hibou grand duc in French.
Doing a quick search, I think it is eagle owl in Englishhttp://www.oiseaux.net/oiseaux/strigiformes/grand-duc.d.europe.html
Did you take it in the wild or in the zoo. If it was in the wild, you must be a very patient man :) Very very impressive shot anyway. It’s just a bonus that (s)he looks in the camera.

It was in a zoo ( bird reserve : le Pont de Gau, South of France, in Camargue). I shot it thru the fence.
